#TheCheerProject

Walker Construction teamed up with local charities, schools and businesses to spread some festive cheer.

This year the team wanted to spread some cheer and show that “everything is better when we work together.”

On November the 30th the wait was over, the very, merry, sing-along video was launched across the social networks. So far, over 20,000 people have watched the video and over 150 have shared #TheCheerProject.

The Walker Construction Trust celebrates its first birthday alongside all the people it has helped throughout the year.

Theo, a 6 year old boy from Dover was just 2 years old when he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Theo and his mum Kate have been raising money to help get Theo life changing post-operation support. Kate said – “we had so much fun filming. Then watching Theo’s face when he watched it for the first time was absolutely priceless. The video was amazing and really made us smile. We feel honoured to be a part of the Cheer Project!”

Maya Nash was just 3 years old when she was diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma. Maya’s family have been desperately appealing for funds to keep Maya’s cancer away. Maya’s mum, Dellanie said “life is better when you’re laughing. The Cheer Project reminds us that regardless of what’s happening in our lives – if existence is filled with art, music and laughter, it will be such a fulfilling life worth living. The best of healers is a good cheer!”

The video offers fantastic exposure to charities and individuals who are fundraising for very important causes.

Dandelion Time, based in Maidstone gives children and families time to heal from emotional trauma and abuse. Fundraising Coordinator, Jo Challis said “We were delighted to be part of Walker Construction’s festive video this year and are so grateful to them for their generous donation.  It is a pleasure to be connected with this wonderful community focused company.”

The Board of Directors at Walker Construction have pledged to make a donation to the Trust for every share of the video on social media. So make sure you share away!
