Girl Guides

Through fun, friendship, challenge, and adventure Girl Guides empowers girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community.

8th Folkestone Guides Unit were looking to fund camping equipment as their old tents and tools used for building campfires needed replacing.

During the year, Girl Guides regularly teach the young women how to set up and take down tents, how to care and maintain them. This year they were only able to arrange a day camp as the tents were no longer functional.

Guiding offers girls and young women a safe, non-judgemental environment in which to learn, grow and develop life skills such as leadership, teamwork, initiative and independence. But most of all, they can see other people within their community in need of support and take action.

The Walker Construction Trust donated £1,000 to the Unit for 3 x Air Genus Inflatable Tents and camp fire/cooking equipment. We wish the girls lots of exciting camping trips to come!
