We were approached by a lady named Geraldine, who told us the story of her and her husband running a vegetarian cafe at Brockhill Country Park for 23 years.
She told us that sadly her husband, Barry passed away last October but she had continued to run the community cafe single handily. Geraldine said; “we always tried to offer a friendly, personal and reasonable service to all the general public who visit. The food is tasty and sustainable”. Geraldine needed help upgrading the back section of the kitchen to a more modern and efficient area.
The Trust agreed to support Geraldine’s project and provided an £850 grant for works to remove existing work surfaces and cupboards, replacing surfaces, including the sink and dishwasher. Funds would also cover a washer/dryer combo fitted and plumbed in. This meant Geraldine could
